I began taking photos at about the age of 10 with a very small camera. I then became serious in my interest in photography whilst I was an architecture student a few years later but still many years ago. Unfortunately, as a student, costs had to be contained and the equipment, whilst being the best I could afford at the time, was nothing like what I have now.
Of course my initial foray into this hobby was with film and all that that involved. Parts of the house were converted to a dark room and chemicals and paper had to be purchased and stored. Years later, in about 2003 I purchased an F6 – the most amazing film camera I had ever used.
Since then I have purchased a NIKON D700 and whilst I am not convinced this does a better job than film I love the convenience and flexibility.
